Love these thoughts, because they reach me as a heartening perspective from within struggle. Thank you for putting them into words. Also, thanks for the fun code-ishness resources. Gonna use those with my kids learning about coding!
I feel like we are forced to obfuscate our struggle a lot to be seen as professional, and I have seen a lot of folks coming in lately that are really shocked at what it is like on this side (creating and being a "public figure" as opposed to enjoying/fandom). I also think that social media has blurred those lines a lot in ways that aren't the fault of anyone in particular, but can lead to stress on both sides too. I just wanna be honest here haha!
Oh yay, glad you thought they were fun! I love stuff like that, even if it isn't applicable to my everyday!
Your speaking your truth helps us hold ours. Thanks. Even as frequently as I use the term “imposter syndrome” to describe my sense of self in “professional” spaces, I feel uncomfortable with how it sounds only like a problem of my own making, internal to me. Rather than, as you said so well, perhaps not the fault of anyone in particular, but stress-producing on both sides. Observing it, naming it, finding the space we need away from it, and sometimes calling our fan and creative communities to better with honesty and respect… I feel like that’s what you do, and it bridges us even while it makes us better. That last post… whew! Say it! Thank you thank you!
Thank you for adding an ace character to the Marvel universe!
I sincerely hope he isn't the first, but either way I am happy to have helped bring him into the world. Here's to a hundred more!
Thank you for your kind response!
